Introduction
The Ph.D. in Education is a three years research-based program. With the growing pace of technology and market competition, continuous education, as well as innovation, has become a necessity for the sustenance of organizations. The program is designed to foster talent for the higher education area in Malaysia and other countries as required in today’s knowledge-based economy.

1. Research Process and Academic Writing
This module provides a comprehensive view of research methods and experimental designs related to education. In addition, the module will also focus on providing a practical understanding of several statistical tools used in analyzing data. The emphasis will be on knowing when to use the various tests, what they measure, and how to interpret results. The topics shall also include how to use software for literature search and writing research papers.
After completing the module, learners will be able to:
- Describe the key concepts that are likely to be included in the design of any research methodology
- Evaluate the research design, data collection, data analysis, a test of Hypothesis

This module equips students with the necessary knowledge in applying appropriate research methodologies for their research. The research methodologies discussed in this module include quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. The module also provides fundamental knowledge and skills to prepare the candidate for completing his/her Ph.D. thesis.
