The ASGS offers courses for students who have completed high school or have passed the General Educational Development (GED) test, and who perhaps have completed some courses either at an appropriately accredited college or in the United States armed forces.
The ASGS program requires the successful completion of 60 semester credit hours of instruction at the lower level (freshman and sophomore years), including a minimum of 15-semester credit hours of general education courses comprising English, mathematics, social sciences, and the humanities; and 6 credit hours in Information Technology.
Applicants to the ASGS program who have attended other appropriately accredited post-secondary educational institutions or have received training in the U.S. military with ACE-recommended credits may transfer up to 75 percent of the credit-hours towards the ASGS requirements. For all courses offered for transfer credit, the applicant must have earned a passing grade of C or better....

Built around a core of general education goals, the General Studies program provides a flexible scaffold upon which students may assemble a unique program of study designed to accommodate individual needs, interests, and experiences.
The A.S. in General Studies is a program where students will complete one, four-credit course every eight weeks. Previously earned transfer credits from accredited institutions may be used to fulfill required and elective courses.
